On Monday March 5th 2018, the French President, Emmanuel Macron, invited the most famous and most promising fashion designers for a private dinner at L’Elysée. This event was the best way for the President to show his admiration and encouragement to the people who work in fashion, that make France and its capital culturally and economically strong.

This dinner brought together some famous personalities of fashion such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, Rick Owens, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Alber Elbaz, Stella McCartney and Anna Wintour…Macron also invited some of fashion’s rising stars, such as Simon Porte, Jacquemus and Marine Serre to represent the industry’s bright future. Among those young talents there was some ESMOD alumni: Victoria Feldman and Tomas Berzins (VICTORIA/TOMAS) ; Roxane Thiery and Anne-Fleur Broudehoux (ROSEANNA). And among the most famous: Olivier Rousteing, Creative Director of BALMAIN, and Jérôme Dreyfuss, founder of the eponymous brand of leathergoods.

Emmanuel Macron also invited some students from the best Parisian fashion schools: L’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale, l’IFM, Duperré, l’ENSAD and of course ESMOD. So, Céline Tiphaine and Damien Lebrun, respectively in 3rd year and in 4th year at ESMOD Paris, had the unique chance to attend this wonderful dinner.

Following the announcement, in January, for the creation of a special donation for young fashion talents, this dinner confirmed that fashion is still a very important industry that promises a bright future for young designers and future entrepreneurs!
